My Brothers,
Now that I am over the initial shock of my new position, it is time to get down to work. Most of you know me or know of me, so I won’t bore you with repeating my Masonic history. I want to take this opportunity to challenge the membership to assist in making this year as busy as possible. I have experienced over the few years of my Masonic life that Washington Lodge #70 always has something going on!
This spring we will be raising another large group of men, with more showing interest in joining our Fraternity. I ask that you assist in welcoming these new members with a warm fraternal greeting when you see them. I remember how warmly I was met. I remember going home after meetings and telling Carolyn how I truly welcome I felt when I walked into the Lodge.
We have a busy spring ahead of us. The usual traditional events, Table Lodge, Widows night, etc, and a few more added. Our increased involvement with the Shad Derby Committee will result in a Lobster Dinner to be held in April, a day trip in June is also planned, and I am sure there will be more as ideas come up. I seek your ideas for new events, and therefore reasons to gather with our fellow Brothers.
Thanks again for the honor of serving this year as Master, I will work hard and I just ask that you all pitch in, however you can. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me, either by phone/email/text/in person.
Fraternally, Robert (Bob) Gresham Worshipful Master - 2011
